Jon Penkower
Principal
Jon Penkower is co-founder of Bridge Strategic Partners and has vast experience in public finance, project finance, public-private partnerships and tax credits. He has worked extensively with public agencies, lending institutions, bond underwriters, community funding agencies, and project sponsors throughout the country. At Bridge Strategic Partners, Jon provides public and private clients with strategic advisory and program development. Prior to co-founding Bridge Strategic Partners, he led originations and business development for HB Capital Resources, which at the time managed the California Statewide Communities Development Authority (CSCDA) and the Public Finance Authority (PFA), two of the largest conduit bond issuers in the country. Jon was instrumental in launching the PFA, a unique government entity with the ability to issue tax-exempt bonds for public and private entities throughout all 50 states. During his tenure with HB Capital, Jon created and implemented the California Statewide Communities Development Corporation, an affiliate Community Development Entity that has successfully received and deployed allocations of New Markets Tax Credits from the U.S. Treasury.
Jon previously practiced with Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton, LLP as an attorney in the firm’s finance group, where he represented banks, other institutional lenders, and developers in structuring and negotiating real estate finance transactions and tax-exempt bond issuances. He also has experience in the acquisition, sale, development and leasing of real estate.
Jon lives in Danville, California with his wife and three children. He enjoys traveling, golf, snowboarding and Pittsburgh sports.
